Whining

I started my adult ballet classes in Toledo. My teacher is beautiful, and a great dancer, but it's just not the same as it was in D.C. I miss my D.C. love (my ballet teacher), who was the perfect teacher. This is second rate, but then so is all of Toledo. My classmates are boring (also disappointing). But I'm glad I'm doing it and I hope that I get better. It is SHOCKING how bad my class is. I'm not kidding. There are about 5 of us and we've finally convinced our teacher to teach us as though we are "the little ones". It is helping.

I've had a bad week and I imagine that I will have a bad semester. The Court of Appeals is boring. All my classes demand more than is appropriate. The PD make me late for school.

This is the first week of classes and I have to learn about mental health law tonight (it's friday) from 6-9:30. I hear the same will be true next friday.

This is bullshit.

Romantic Comedy

The romantic comedy never stars a man and a women under.... 25? 30? Few star college age actors. Most romances are set early thirties and are played by actors even older. John Cusak is still doing them and he's 64.

I just looked up Kate Hudson on imdb.com and she's 27, the bitch. Anyway, I guess that's my point because she seems older. Meg Ryan was 28 when she filmed When Harry Met Sally. Billy Crystal was 42.

So why is it that being a mid-twenty and not in love raises questions. Why is it that my friends and I can't watch this genre without considering ourselves failures and feeling pathetic afterwards? We aren't even to the age of the romantic comedy, or are in fact the age that Mr. Wonderful is supposed to sweep us off our feets. Instead of feeling excitement for the inevitable knight in shining armor/falling in love with your brother's best friend/love at first sight while getting your eyes checked at DOC, we feel old and unworthy and lost.

To continue bitching... Miranda Hobbs told her speed-dating suitors that she is a stewardess because none of the men could handle that she is a successful attorney. And these were not men that work at Tuffy. So instead of considering that men are bullshit, society blames singlehood on women and their inability to be loved by someone.

Fuck You America, Fuck You.

Don't We All....

I hate boys.
